Advanced Dental Technology & Comforts Orlando

High-Quality Care Using Advanced Instruments

Technology plays an unparalleled role in modern dentistry; without constant innovation and new tools being developed, our smiles wouldn’t be able to look and feel their absolute best. That’s why Dr. Scarpitti has made it a priority to outfit his Orlando office with the latest devices and instruments that the field has to offer. To learn more about some of the tools we use to streamline and elevate the care we provide to our patients, continue reading below!

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Machine for nitrous oxide sedation

Commonly referred to as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is one of the most accessible forms of dental sedation. It’s a colorless, odorless gas that’s administered with oxygen through a soft nasal mask, and it’s perfectly safe for patients of all ages. When under its effects, patients feel happy, euphoric, and carefree, which makes it much easier to carry out virtually all types of dental care. Better yet, it’s the go-to solution for patients who have debilitating dental-related anxiety.

Digital Impressions

In the past, taking dental impressions was a bit messy and uncomfortable for all parties involved, since it relied on gooey, putty-like materials and physical labor. Luckily, modern technology has made this cumbersome process immensely easier and more convenient; we can use our PrimeScan system to take entirely digital impressions! This tool allows us to capture incredibly precise images of your whole mouth and its structures, letting us craft whatever type of dental restoration you need quickly and more accurately.

Soft Tissue Laser

One of our most exciting tools here in our Orlando office is our Dentsply diode soft tissue laser. This is one of the most innovative pieces of equipment in modern dentistry, since it completely replaces the need to use a traditional surgical scalpel! It uses a concentrated ray of light to remove and reshape tissue as needed, and since it cauterizes, there’s less bleeding, swelling, and overall greater patient comfort.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

In modern dentistry, there’s a constant need for taking a closer, more detailed look inside the mouth, and there’s no better tool for this than our Kavo CT Cone Beam Scanner. This nifty device has an extendable arm that’s capable of rotating a full 360 degrees, meaning that it can capture the entire anatomy of your face and mouth in incredible detail. These images can then be digitized and viewed on a screen, which makes planning various types of treatment much easier for Dr. Scarpitti.

3D Printing

We also have a 3D printer here in our office that allows us to immediately provide patients with temporary restorations as they’re awaiting the completion of their permanent ones. This often becomes necessary for temporary dentures following an extraction, or even following dental implant placement. We can also use it to create various other appliances including nightguards, sportsguards, surgical guides, and more.
